About DriveWest
DriveWest (drivewest.co.za) is a digital vehicle marketing platform operating in South Africa. We provide online advertising services that connect private car sellers and dealerships with potential buyers.
DriveWest is a digital marketing service. We facilitate exposure of vehicles to potential buyers through social media, online platforms, and digital channels. We do not act as seller, agent, or broker. We do not handle purchase funds, deposits, or payments related to vehicle transactions. All transactions occur directly between buyer and seller. DriveWest accepts no liability for vehicle condition, misrepresentation by sellers, or disputes arising from transactions.
Use of the Platform
By using DriveWest you agree to the following:
- You are at least 18 years old
- All information you provide is accurate and truthful
- You are the legal owner of the vehicle you list, or have authority to sell it
- You will not use the platform for fraudulent, illegal, or misleading purposes
- You will not list stolen vehicles or vehicles with outstanding finance without disclosure
- You will respond honestly to buyer inquiries
Disclaimer of Liability
DriveWest acts solely as an advertising platform. We are not party to any transaction between buyer and seller.
- DriveWest does not verify vehicle condition, history, or roadworthiness
- DriveWest does not guarantee the accuracy of any listing
- DriveWest accepts no liability for financial loss arising from transactions
- DriveWest accepts no liability for fraud, misrepresentation, or disputes between parties
- Buyers are advised to conduct their own due diligence before purchasing any vehicle
- DriveWest is not responsible for vehicles with outstanding finance, liens, or encumbrances
Listing Fees & Payments
All listing fees are payable upfront before a listing goes live. The following applies:
- Private sellers pay R499 per 30-day listing
- Dealers pay R999 per month for unlimited listings
- Listing fees are non-refundable once a listing is live
- DriveWest does not charge commission on vehicle sales
- DriveWest does not handle any funds related to vehicle purchases
- Payment for vehicles is always directly between buyer and seller
Buyer Safety
DriveWest strongly advises all buyers to follow these safety guidelines:
- Always meet sellers in a public place or at a reputable dealership
- Never pay a deposit before viewing a vehicle in person
- Verify the seller's identity before completing any transaction
- Use bank transfers — avoid cash for high-value purchases
- Check the vehicle's VIN against eNaTIS records
- Verify there is no outstanding finance using a bank or recognised finance check service
- Obtain a roadworthy certificate before transfer
- If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is
Privacy Policy
DriveWest collects only the information necessary to display listings and facilitate buyer-seller contact. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
- Seller contact details are displayed on listings as provided
- We may use your email to contact you about your listing
- We use cookies for basic site functionality and analytics
- We comply with POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) requirements
Prohibited Listings
The following listings are strictly prohibited on DriveWest:
- Stolen vehicles
- Vehicles with fraudulent documentation
- Vehicles listed at fraudulent prices to mislead buyers
- Non-vehicle items or services
- Duplicate listings of the same vehicle
- Listings by sellers misrepresenting their identity
DriveWest reserves the right to remove any listing without notice and without refund if these terms are violated.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from the use of DriveWest shall be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
